Should Trans People Have to Disclose Their Birth Gender Before Sex? | VICE United States

Paris Lees In Bed

Absolutely disgusting. Trans*folk in the UK now by law must disclose their physical birth gender to potential sex partners. If you think that’s a good idea, I say It’s nobody’s business but your own! Nobody’s, never! Disclose if you want — it’s safer, i.e., you’re less likely to get murdered — and don’t if you don’t want to. For once Aleister Crowley was right. Do what thou wilt is the whole of the Law. (Even though he “borrowed” the idea.) —I know this is a topic which can provoke extreme controversy. It’s just the idea of it being the law of the land in a supposedly free country like the UK that pisses me off.

Incomparable, extremely forthright, and beautiful Paris Lees writes about this nauseating development at the link below.

I live in the UK and it is disgraceful, this will be brought up at Trans Pride which I’m supporting here on the 26th July I know plenty of Trans people and they are rightly angry about this. I asked a friend about this, she is in the process of trying to get her birth certificate changed.
There is a lot going on here that we’re all angry about, we have one of the most disgusting hypocritical right wing governments in power at the moment, and this country is far from being free. Thanks for bringing this up Rachel.

Britain and the US both are no longer free countries, albeit in different fashions. Sad but true. And in my entry I made a mistake. It’s not “the law of the land” in the UK that trans* people must disclose their physical birth sex to potential sex partners, but rather there’s now a case law precedent that states they must do so. I could have the jargon slightly wrong. The problem with that is that it’s just confusing as Hell. Do you or don’t you have to disclose your physical birth gender now if you’re trans? Nobody can know. Thanks as always for the comment and for visiting.

      Much love. -Rachel
