Move Date: August 1st

I now have a firm move date, the afternoon of August 1st. I haven’t forgotten the entries I promised, or my promise not to let this blog die, but until I’m all unpacked in the new place I simply won’t have much time to devote to posting here. August 1st is only five days away, and I have a lot of packing, and then unpacking, left to do. So in reality, except for — maybe — small posts and “asides” as WordPress calls them, the blog is going dormant for a week or a little longer.

Many thanks to you all for your understanding. And —

Much love to you all! —Rachel Izabella

FREE Geomancy Divinations: OFFER SUSPENDED

Sadly, what with the upcoming move, the stagnant divorce proceedings, etc., etc., I just don’t have the time or energy for any more free readings now. I hope to resume them at a later day, when my life perhaps will have stabilized.

Moreover, I am deeply introverted. We introverts derive our energy from within and no matter how much we love people find turning outward for long periods of time exhausting. Divination for others is the opposite of introversion, it is extraversion taken to its extreme. So I hope to resume the divinations when I’m “recharged” as it were by the necessary periods of solitude which I do not now enjoy.

If you have already as of now — 25 July 2013, 11:37am — requested a free divination, I will of course honor your request.

May the Gods be with you. —Rachel Izabella

“The Arte Magical is of sufficient potency and origination that it need not model itself upon the artifices of fantasists; nor is the sorcerer bound by the experiences of others in effectively penetrating the vastness of his own. The Inner Nature of Witch-Cult is such that it has long recognized Imagination as one of the greatest incarnative powers of Man. This faculty, especially in the past four centuries, has been suppressed, manacled, muted, and assaulted in the profane order; content to atrophy in the Station of the Ape, it is thus become, in our present era, a Forbidden Art.”

Daniel Schulke, Lux Haeresis

“If today you had to choose one of the two thieves crucified with Christ as a friend or think about which of the two you could sooner put your trust in, it’s certainly not that whimpering convert. No, it’s the other one, he’s a real man with character. He doesn’t give a hoot about converting, which in his situation can only be pretty speechifying; he travels his path to the end, and doesn’t act like a coward at the last minute, renouncing the Devil, who must have helped him up until then. He’s a man of character, and people of character generally get short shrift in Bible stories. Maybe he’s a descendant of Cain. Don’t you think so?”

Updates, Sorcerous Schemes, and Magic

I recently swore I wouldn’t let this blog die but for two days all I did was free geomantic readings. It wasn’t the magic of divination that drained my energies — magic tends to hype me up and make me feel good and happy — it was writing up my findings, which I did at considerable length for each reading.

An aside… If you’re in doubt about getting a free geomantic divination, by the way, bear in mind that you’ll get a detailed analysis of the reading as well as advice on how to counter any problems that I may see in your charts. That’s a good deal considering you get it all gratis. Also, I’ve gotten only positive feedback from people so far. —Even I didn’t expect to be so accurate. End of aside.

And then day before yesterday I got another godsdamn migraine. I was able to stop it in its tracks and make the pain go away but I was not able to ameliorate the myriad other migraine symptoms I get. Yesterday I spent in a post-migraine fog.

So no real articles have been forthcoming. That’s going to change barring further migraines. I’m really thinking of taking a page from Kemitic (Egyptian polytheistic reconstructionism) magic and execrating my migraines. I need to read up on how to do that. If I achieve results I’ll post about them.

I am however working on rereading Lux Haeresis by Daniel Schulke, Magister of the Cultus Sabbati. I adore this book, and when I finish rereading it — Sabbatic writings are notoriously obscure — I plan to review it. It’s a major work by a bona fide Adept and almost no one knows about it. That needs to be rectified, as much I can by means of my little blog at least. —Basically it’s a grimoire on the Sight: achieving it, what it is, and all that it can do. You can do a lot more with the Sight than you ever imagined. And, in case you’re interested, it didn’t go out of print all that long ago and interest in it is stupidly low (probably because it’s difficult to understand) and I imagine you can still get a copy for comparatively cheap at or on eBay. I’ve only practiced the first technique that Schulke teaches, but it’s mind-blowing. And it works.

Review-wise next up will either be the Psalterium Caini by members of the Cultus Sabbati or Serpent Songs, an anthology of essays on Traditional Craft and Scarlet Imprint’s latest offering.

You might notice a theme here: witchcraft. I did a divination the other day — Am I a witch? The verdict: I’m not there yet but that’s the direction I’m headed in. So soon enough my About Me page will need some serious updating. And I’ll need to do a lot of thinking and praying about what it means — for me — to be a witch. Knowing me I’ll write all about it here.

And, last, a field report on a bit of magic I did just last night. —I’m participating in the Facebook group 49 Calls in 49 Days. Actually it’s called The Crying of Calls 49 but — no offense I hope to Jason Miller that’s just too atrocious a pun on the title of a Thomas Pynchon novel for me to even call it that. Each day we perform one of the planetary Calls from Jason’s Advanced Planetary Magic, which you can get here if interested. Anyway yesterday’s planetary Call was a curse. By changing the word rivals to opposers the curse is turned toward one’s Material, Subtle, and Secret opposers. Material opposers are of course people. Subtle opposers are spirits that, while their presence in your life may not be as bad as a curse, nevertheless are detrimental to your life and the enjoyment and fruition of it. Secret opposers are those tendencies inside oneself that you might call self-sabotage, or self-hatred, etc. —Anyway as soon as I finished the Call, the curse, I felt as if a huge burden had been lifted off me. That’s a rather wimpy-sounding, very subtle result, but the results of the result have been really good. Namely, the last of the migraine faded away instantly and I’ve been able to get a lot done today.

OK. This whole entry was like a meta-entry. An entry about entries, ones that don’t exist yet. That is admittedly limp but at least I’m writing here again. I felt blocked about blogging for a while and the blockage is gone now. See ya soon.

Much love. —Rachel Izabella

New Favorite Transwoman Blog

Zinnia Jones

I have a new favorite blog written by a transwoman — Zinnia Jones: Queen of Atheism at Yeah, I know she calls herself the Queen of Atheism, and I’m about as far from an atheist as you can get, a polytheist, but on this blog she doesn’t post about atheism or her atheist activism, she posts about being trans. She cute, she’s incredibly articulate, she’s forthright and honest. Very, very honest. She started HRT at about the same time I did.

She doesn’t hold anything back, so her blog is definitely NSFW (Not Safe For Work). The prurient among us — and who isn’t? — will especially want to check out her animated gifs — Definitely not safe for work. If you are secretly curious about the sex life of a transwoman you can find out all about it here. More importantly you can get a glimpse into what it’s like to actually experience that same metamorphosis I’m going through myself.

Despite the playful, “naughty” nature of her blog, she writes well and intelligently about what it’s really like for her to be a transwoman in transition. And she does not tolerate fools. She has a link to a much more serious blog she writes but unless you’re interested in atheism I doubt you’ll want to visit.

Highly recommended.

About My Hiatus: And Free Readings Soon, Probably

I haven’t posted here in several days and I haven’t written a longer blog entry for much longer. Sorry about that, folks, but Real Life™ has been overwhelming lately. I am however determined to keep this blog alive. And there are signs I’m adapting to the stress. Instead of just retreating into the fantasy worlds of anime I’ve begun reading books again. Tentatively, cursorily, but still reading. And yesterday I did five geomantic divinations for a friend to help her figure out what’s going on in her spiritual life.

So expect a book review or two soon, reports on the results of various experimenta, etc. And of course the occasional rant.

And here’s one more thing to expect. I’m pretty good at geomancy, but I don’t feel I have the practice or self-confidence quite yet to charge money for my services. So I’m considering offering free geomancy divinations to readers of this blog. I’ve been assured that doing free readings is the step I need to take to gain the practice and self-confidence to divine for cash money. Which provides, by the way, for some, a much better secondary income than freelance writing ever could, at least for me.

Let me know if you’re interested in a free reading. Anyone who does express an interest, I’ll put your name at the top of the queue for a (very probable) free reading in the near future.

Much love, Rachel Izabella

Transgender nursing student threatened with arrest for using women’s restroom – LGBTQ Nation

Speaking of transphobia and “legal” action against trans* people (see my previous post on the miserable fate that is likely in store for Greek transfolk), it’s happening here — in the United States of America — more and more. While the recent (and truly rather small) victories for proponents of gay marriage have been taking place, persecution of trans* people in America seems to be on the rise. I’m seeing more and more instances of such persecution in my news feeds. I couldn’t begin to report on them all here.

LGBTQI folks need more than marriage. We need, probably most of all, equal protections under the law.

Is America developing its own case of low-grade, low-profile fascism? —I don’t bandy that word lightly. I say what I mean and mean what I say when I use that word.

“Undesirables” in increasingly fascist Greece are being harassed, rounded up, imprisoned and disappeared. Amongst these “undesirables” are now, of course, trans* people. Will the bona fide fascism of the Golden Dawn begin to spread? Has it already and I just don’t know about it?

Of course it’s not just the trans* people who are suffering. The homeless, homosexuals, and other groups of “undesirables” are also being rounded up and disappeared.

It’s very discouraging to read how the hierarchy of the Greek Orthodox Church are cheering all this on. Discouraging, but not surprising. It behooves a national Church to watch and mimic carefully what it sees the government doing, especially if that government is on or past the brink of fascism. And though doing so behooves them, it’s a betrayal of their Lord, Jesus ben Elohim. (For Whom I have great respect, my clean break from the Church notwithstanding. Jesus and the Church … there isn’t much of a connection between the two.)

“Never again!” people say or once said concerning Nazi Germany. Well, sorry folks, it is happening again. Click on the link below to read more about it.

Migraine Mitigated: Big Toe Acupressure Point

Big Toe

I had to get online despite how bright the computer screen was in order to bail on the article I agreed to write, deadline today. And having to do that really sucked, by the way. While online my friend The Unlikely Mage pointed me at a professional-level acupuncture site on the Web. I know nothing about Chinese traditional medicine so I won’t try to explain much — something about too much yang in the head, I think.

I did however find a new acupressure point to try. And it worked! About ninety percent of the pain is gone. All the other symptoms of a so-called complex migraine are still present — a knot in my left shoulder, fuzzy vision, light sensitivity (I have the screen brightness turned all the way down), etc., ad nauseam — but the pain, the worst part, is much better.

Simply massage first one big toe for about a minute and then the other. I’ve waited in between times but have done it about three times so far. It really works, at least for certain types of migraine. Or maybe I should say for my migraine, this time.

Hoping it works for you!
